AUSTRALIA - JAPAN WORLD EXPOSITION 1970

From the shape of a giant cantilever called "sky hook" is suspended a circular free-hanging roof, about 50 meters in diameter. This roof shelters the theater and the lobby.


Australian Pavilion - Theme:  "The Australian Contribution to Progress and Harmony for Mankind" Patterned on the meridian, the building features a free-hanging roof which appears to float over a giant display room capable of holding 2,000 people.
